This release updates SDLT to HMRC's latest V2.6a business rules and delivers a range of performance, security, and reliability improvements across the platform.

Post Completion

SDLT updated to HMRC V2.6a – The SDLT form has been brought in line with HMRC's latest business rules.

This update includes:

  • Improved relief code validation

  • A centrally maintained First-Time Buyer Relief threshold

  • Automatic re-validation when key values change

  • Clearer date and currency error messages

  • Additional checks on VAT and lease-related fields.


Performance, Stability & Security

  • Faster Loading Across Settings & Quotes – Office Branches display, Quotes Tracking, and several Settings screens (Client MFA, Theme, Automated Reports, Lender Configuration, Terminology, Client Services) now load and respond noticeably faster.

  • Improved Application Reliability – Internal handling of user profile data and document generation has been strengthened to reduce unexpected errors during routine use.

  • Enhanced Access Controls for Case Data – Strengthened controls ensure that case, property, quote, and client data can only be accessed by users within the appropriate referrer organisation.

Key Bug Fixes

  • SDLT Postcode Validation – Invalid UK postcodes are now flagged in the SDLT form before submission, preventing HMRC rejections.

  • Biometric Identity Check Re-Ordering – Clients can now successfully complete a biometric identity check when it has been re-ordered after a previous attempt was cancelled.

  • Date of Birth Field – Resolved an issue where the date of birth field was showing as invalid.

  • Land Registry Official Copies – Resolved a formatting issue on Official Copies returned from Land Registry.

The Legal Bricks Getting Started Tour is now live

Last month we shared that a new onboarding experience was coming soon for new Legal Bricks users, and we're pleased to confirm it's now live.

When a new user first logs in, they'll be greeted with a short guided experience designed to help them find their feet quickly and navigate key areas of the system with confidence.

The new user journey covers the essentials to get up and running, including:

  • A walkthrough of key areas of the system

  • Links to relevant knowledge articles

  • Step-by-step video guides for core processes - including ordering search reports, AML and biometric ID checks and creating conveyancing quotes

  • Guidance on getting support, including the option to book a call with your Customer Relationship Manager for personalised help
